Hu is an entrepreneur, technologist and financial service professional. He was most recently the founder and CEO of Omniex, a digital asset trading platform that was acquired by Gemini Trust Company.
Prior, Hu played major roles at State Street Bank as SVP in the US and in Hong Kong heading up the emerging tech center as well as leading multiple regional and global business units. He joined State Street through the acquisition of Currenex, the first institutional HFT foreign exchange trading platform. Hu started his career as a software developer for IBM’s Almaden Research Center and as a management consultant.
He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley.
Martin has had a long and distinguished career in Securities Financing. He recently served as the VP of Finance at Gemini. Prior to that he served as the Global Head of Securities Finance at State Street Bank & Trust.
Prior to joining State Street in 2013, Martin was a Founding Partner at Oakpoint Advisors, a hedge fund servicing firm, and previously spent 20 years at Morgan Stanley, serving as Global Head of Securities Lending and the CFO for the Global Equity Division. Martin also served as a Chairman for Equilend representing Morgan Stanley.
Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Columbia University and an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Rutgers University.
He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
